Breakfast was so bad at a recent overnight stop that Inspector X had to satisfy herself with a full English Breakfast on the route back home. Well, this one goes straight to the top ten. Browns Kitchen on the Mundford Roundabout serves breakfast from 9am to 11.30am. They don't seem to have a website but you will find them on Twitter @BrownsKitchen.

My kind of coffee break - a Suffolk made Portuguese Tart.
Written by RuthYou should go to Suffolk's newest deli and bistro at the Chilli Farm in the heart of Suffolk right on the main A140, an incredible oasis of food and deliciousness. Stop and make up a picnic from the vast array of goodies for sale, because it's all being made by the well known Earsham Street Cafe in Bungay. The team behind it are enthusiastic and friendly and the Portuguese Custard Tart, made with unwaxed lemons was scrummy - and what with free wifi and a great cappuccino - what better place to stop for a working tea break?
Fancy taking your doggie out with you for a cup of tea or light lunch? Try The Animal Health Trust cafe in Newmarket which is open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Their homemade soups, quiches, salads and cakes are all very good. The courtyard is also delightful on a sunny day, with ride-on toys provided for the kids.
Proper leaf tea and fresh homemade cakes all served at 5.15pm when Southwold usually closes up for the night. Winter afternoon teas are served at Tillys until 6pm. Thank you Tillys!
On the specials board at Baileys2 in Bury St Edmunds yesterday, a homemade sundried tomato scotch egg. It was deliciously fresh with a nicely soft yolk. The caramelised onion jam was rather tasty too. Baileys2 have just won the Suffolk magazine award for best Tea and Coffee Shop in Suffolk. Well done!

Why not hold a Marie Curie Tea Party? My friend Margaret held one yesterday for her 50th birthday party. We made sandwiches, cakes, cookies, scones, muffins, pimms, pots of tea and also enjoyed strawberries and cream. The party went on until 9pm after a great afternoon of catching up with old friends. Margaret raised £200. Well done and Happy Birthday Margaret!
Are they so busy here at the Museum of East Anglian Life that they have run out of food by 1pm on both the days I visit? The broccoli soup and cheese scone was very nice but the only thing left on the menu. And no, we can't 'wait for half an hour' until you sort yourselves out in the kitchen!
Coffee break today was on the seafront in Lowestoft. This cappuccino was good and the papers were available to read the latest gossip. Snappy service and friendly staff although no time to try the lasagne which was dish of the day. The large terrace meant that I could catch up on a bit of windy sunshine too.
Hidden away in the Old Fox Yard in Stow, it's worth a visit for the Peach Flan alone, a retro delight decorated with loads of squeezy cream. In fact the whole cafe is a riot of signs and hundreds and thousands.
